Instruction to your bank or building society to pay by Direct Debit

By completing this Direct Debit Instruction, you are consenting to pay Council Tax Direct Debits to Plymouth City Council from the account specified under the protection assured by the Direct Debit Guarantee. 

This Instruction may remain with Plymouth City Council and, if so, details will be passed electronically to the bank or building society specified.

Please note: Banks and building societies may not accept Direct Debit Instructions for some types of accounts.

If your bank account requires two or more signatures...

If you have a joint bank account which requires two or more signatures, you should complete and submit this form online, then print out the completed form using the Download PDF button, have it signed by the signatories of the bank account and post it to us.

We are only able to accept a Direct Debit Instruction from a person in whose name the bank account is held.

I understand that this instruction may remain with Plymouth City Council and, if so, details will be passed electronically to my bank/building society.

You will receive confirmation that the Direct Debit has been set up within 3 working days or no later than 10 working days before the first collection and your bank statement will show 'Plymouth City Council' in relation to any payments made.

We will lodge your Direct Debit Instruction against the account provided within the next 10 working days.
